I am a media specialist with a unique skillset: award-winning broadcaster, media analyst, and op-ed columnist; now a science journalist and writer with over 250 bylines in national and international titles.
My main area of interest is the interface of science, the media, and media consumer behaviour. I have experience working across all media platforms. I am also the author of two books, both published by Penguin Random House. The latter, The Quiet Maverick - a bestseller - was about the challenges of covering science in a disrupted news media environment.
I have a degree in clinical psychology, a postgraduate HDE in clinical assessment and counselling, and a master’s degree in science journalism from City, University of London. I was Deputy Editor of the school’s official online magazine Elements.
I was the founder and creative director of a science communications company; a former lecturer in business communications; and have researched three top-selling books on scenario planning and corporate strategy.
I am currently the co-founder and editor of Growing Foxes, an ed-tech company specialising in the use of scenarios to develop strategic thinking.
