Laws Can Change When God’s People Step In
By Wanda Alger Published on October 22, 2024 The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! (Psalms 110:1-2 ESV) For those who understand the greater authority we carry from an unseen Kingdom, the issue isn’t about whether or not we get involved in governmental affairs or an electoral process.
How to Stay Encouraged During a Politically Charged Season
By Bunni Pounds Published on October 11, 2024 Navigating politically charged times can often feel overwhelming and disheartening. Disagreements are rampant, tensions run high, and it seems like negativity is everywhere. Christians have a source of encouragement and strength that transcends the surrounding chaos. Don’t lose relationships with your family and friends over politics. Don’t lose heart through discouragement when things don’t look like they are going in your desired direction.
Contending for Breakthrough: Families
Tensions are high, and all eyes are on the November elections. What will the results mean for our nation? It is a critical time in history for both America and our world. While leaders determine a nation’s course, God is sovereign and can be trusted. Let’s humbly seek His Presence and His intervention on behalf of America. In a posture of unity, let’s agree that He is the only one who can turn the tide in our nation.
‘My Vote Doesn’t Matter’: Responding to Christians Who Don’t Plan to Vote
As I’ve traveled across the nation this year, I’ve had many opportunities to share about my work mobilizing Christians to engage in the political process. What continues to surprise me, however, is that many believers tell me they do not plan to vote because their vote “doesn’t matter.” Some tell me, “I already know who is going to win in my state.” Others claim, “I don’t know any of the people on the ballot.
A Letter to My Democrat Friends: Truth Outweighs Party Identity
Over the years, I’ve known quite a few Democrats within the faith community. In fact, on several occasions, it was my Democrat friends who opened their arms and provided the help I very much needed at the time. My disdain for Marxist ideology – the Democratic Party’s preferred doctrine — has never been directed toward them. They are good people. I’m grateful for what they have done for me.
Going to War to Close Out 2024: Fasting for Spiritual Breakthrough
By Shane Idleman Published on October 2, 2024 You choose: Will it be the pain of discipline or the pain of regret? One yields a sense of extreme fulfillment; the other, a lingering sense of defeat. Ironically, we pray for God to heal when we should also pray for the self-discipline to change harmful habits. Fasting is hard because self-denial is hard (discipline), and overindulging is not rewarding (regret).
America and the Poor
Jesus loved and cared deeply for the poor. Both the Old and New Testaments are filled with God’s commandments to care for the poor, for widows and orphans. The story of the Good Samaritan serves as a perfect example of an appropriate expression of compassion. Remember, both the priest and Levite walked by and paid no attention to the one in obvious need. Religious traditionalists too often neglect the direct commands of God while following their own lifeless, loveless traditions of men.
Politics: Important, But Not the Gospel
Politics is very important. Politics played a role in the abolition of slavery and segregation and in the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Conversely, it was because of a political vote that Hitler came into power, resulting in the deaths of multiplied tens of millions of people. So politics can be very important. Politics affects the economy, which in turn affects everyday life. Politics affects national security, which can be a matter of life and death.
Now Is the Time - The Stream
By Michael Brown Published on July 19, 2024 Allow me to focus on one specific word: “now.” It is a word of massive, even ultimate importance. That’s because all we have is “now.” We live in an ever-present now. Yesterday was once now, but that time is past, and we don’t live there anymore. And by the time we get to tomorrow, it too will be now. The point is that all we have is now, and if we don’t do the will of God now, when will we do it?
God’s Message to President Trump
By Wanda Alger Published on July 16, 2024 The recent assassination attempt on President Trump has changed history. After seeing Trump’s immediate stand-up-and-fight reaction after almost being killed, staunch supporters have been fueled, onlookers have been energized, and even critics have changed their minds about supporting him. It is clear this man is on a mission and will not be easily sidelined.
Could Trump Become the Great Unifier?
By Michael Brown Published on July 15, 2024 In answer to a question CNN’s Jake Tapper asked on October 25, 2015 about whether his presidency would result in an era of bipartisanship, then-candidate Donald Trump answered, “I absolutely think so. I will be a great unifier for our country.” Could it be that, fresh off his seemingly miraculous escape from death this past Saturday, Trump could become that man? Is it possible?
God has a plan for Donald Trump following attempted assassination
OPINION: “It was God alone.”— former President Donald J. Trump What is it about Mr. Trump that offends his political opponents? From the early days of his political career, the anger toward this man has been irrational. The media vilification. Frivolous lawsuits. Impeachment proceedings. The list goes on. And now: an assassination attempt. Subscribe to have The Washington Times’ Higher Ground delivered to your inbox every Sunday.

How Radical Sexual Ideologues Captured Our Government and How to Win It Back
Randy Robison interviews Joy Pullmann, author of False Flags: Why Queer Politics Mean the End of America By The Stream Published on June 18, 2024 Despite their enormous power, cultural Marxists can still be beaten if everyday American recognize what is at stake and take appropriate and immediate action. Our friend at colleague from across the hall, Life Today Live! host Randy Robison, discusses with author Joy Pullmann the strategies outlined in her essential book.
What lessons can we learn 37 years after Reagan’s ‘tear down this wall’ speech?
OPINION: This week marks the 37th anniversary of President Ronald Reagan’s iconic speech at the Brandenberg Gate of the Berlin Wall. To be sure, President Reagan’s challenge, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” is a phrase that will go down in history as one of the most profound moments in America’s leadership as far as global freedom. Overcoming Bitterness in Politics and Life
By Bunni Pounds Published on June 5, 2024 It took me a long time to deal with all the hurt and betrayals I experienced during my campaign for Congress back in 2018. I used to say, “You haven’t lived until you have had a million dollars spent against you and your family.” I had to work through the anger and keep going to Jesus in prayer. I knew I was finally free when anger stopped spewing out of my mouth every time I talked about the race.
Unity Has a Sound That Will Displace Principalities
By Wanda Alger Published on June 4, 2024 In music, tones comprise frequencies and sound waves. In order to be “in tune,” a musician must tune his instrument to a standard measurement (generally 440hz) in order to emit a pure and vibrant sound. All musicians must be tuned to the same standard in order to be in tune and in harmony with each other. If one musician is off, even slightly, the frequencies are disrupted and the resulting sound waves are distorted.
Can a Christian Still Support Donald Trump After His Recent Guilty Verdict?
By Shane Idleman Published on June 3, 2024 People often ask me, “How can you follow Jesus and support Donald Trump?” However, many Christians who do so are not following a man — they are shaping a movement. A better, biblical question to ask is, What direction is the country heading?
It’s time to ‘Appeal to Heaven’ for Justice Alito, his wife and the entire Supreme Court
OPINION: For the past four years, astute citizens have observed a strange dichotomy. The Supreme Court has been trending back to the original meaning and intent of the Constitution and the nation’s laws. No more the wild law-making errors of Courts that made up so-called rights to kill unborn babies. This Court is experiencing a long-needed correction. You could call it justice. At the same time, I see evidence of growing injustice.
America Needs Prayer and Intercession
By Dave Kubal Published on May 30, 2024 When we think about prayer throughout history, we realize mankind has always reached out to God. Regardless of the continent they lived on, age, or even beliefs, there are historic accounts of people reaching out to God. It’s as if God has hardwired us to communicate with Him. Think for a moment about billions of people all over the world over thousands of years praying to God. Imagine those prayers that have ascended to His holy throne.
On Free Speech and Offense in Public Spaces
One man’s experience at the doctor’s office. By Timothy Furnish Published on May 5, 2024 One of Christ’s best-known statements is that “a house divided against itself will not stand.” It appears in all three synoptic gospels, and our greatest president, Abraham Lincoln, used it during his 1858 debates with Stephen Douglas. The phrase may have cost him a Senate seat but it almost certainly helped him win the presidency two years later.
Five Ways to Pray for America
A snapshot of our nation right now would reveal the following: escalating violence; the border crisis; ceaseless and increasing campus protests; an ongoing war in the Middle East; rampant lawlessness; and an administration that sits idly by and allows all of it. For some, giving up seems like an easy option. Fortunately, there are millions of Americans who are determined not to give up.
National Day of Prayer: Praying for America is vital if we want God to transform this country
OPINION: This week, America commemorates the National Day of Prayer. Do you ever wonder why you should pray for America? Have you asked yourself how your prayers can possibly make any difference if God is sovereign and does what He pleases anyway? If that’s you, I want to encourage you today and show you why your prayers are important. Subscribe to have The Washington Times’ Higher Ground delivered to your inbox every Sunday.

Jesus knew bad news, wickedness would increase. He also knew the answer.
OPINION: Have you checked the news recently and found headlines like these? A 20-year-old passenger on a cruise ship argued with his dad and then jumped overboard to his death. Former NFL linebacker Terrell Suggs was arrested for brandishing a gun in order to threaten another customer in line at Starbucks.
Are You a Christian Nationalist?
By Dave Kubal Published on April 12, 2024 Do you believe what the Bible says? Do you want to live your life as the Bible teaches? Do your political views reflect your biblical worldview? Then get ready to be labeled a Christian nationalist. The progressive left is using a smear attack to scare Christians into not speaking up, using false labels like “Christian nationalist” as a bullying tactic. We can expect that to increase as we draw closer to this fall’s presidential election.
Global Crescendo of Freedom: Will It Continue?
The year 2024 is like no other year in human history; we are experiencing an historic crescendo of global freedom. The upcoming U.S. election is vitally important in light of what God is doing around the globe. Fewer than 250 years ago, not a single country in the world allowed people the opportunity to elect those in authority over them.

Why These Prophetic Warnings Must Prompt Our Prayers
This past week may turn out to be a historic prophetic juncture in the relationship of the United States and Israel and in the trajectory of the nation. It started with a spiritual law dating back to the call of Abram: "I will make you [Abram] a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed" (Gen. 12:2-3, NKJV; see also Num.
Never Put a Scorpion in Your Pocket
By Jeff Gardner Published on February 28, 2024 Last week, the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, gave a speech at CPAC. Much of what this young and dynamic leader had to say about our global, political climate is well worth hearing.
The Crime Wave in America is Crippling Our Nation
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, crime has precipitously skyrocketed in cities across the country, as demonstrated by a recent report published by Our America. One crime in particular, retail theft, has destroyed businesses across the country, hurting consumers and businesses alike. While shoplifting is nothing new, there is more than meets the eye with this recent trend.
George Soros Foundations Spending Millions for Ohio Pro-Abortion Campaign, Millions for Anti-Semitic Terror Groups
"I think he [Soros] fundamentally hates humanity." — Elon Musk By Tom Gilson Published on November 2, 2023 Next Tuesday Ohio will be deciding on Issue 1, a despicably pro-abortion, anti-family proposed state constitutional amendment. George Soros, the world’s richest leftist string-puller, has poured multiple millions from outside the state into swaying the vote. It’s another case of Soros wanting people everywhere doing things his way.
5 Crucial Lessons Learned From Planting a Church
Westside Christian Fellowship in Southern California arose out of a desperate need to encourage Christians to seek God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. The overwhelming response simply reflects the need that we all have for the truths found in God’s Word. Propelled by prayer and passion, Westside went against all conventional wisdom by offering services on Saturday evenings the first five years with no core team, no affiliation, no formal education, and no money.
Washington and Our Crisis of Character
By Jerry Newcombe Published on August 17, 2023 Last week, in scanning various headlines, I was delighted to see — among all the bad news — this story: “George Washington’s 110 Rules of Civility.” The link they have brings the reader to the Mount Vernon website. This isn’t advice George Washington doled out. Rather, it’s a series of aphorisms that he learned as a youth that greatly impacted his life.
'All Glory to God!': More Than 300 Inmates in Indiana Jail Baptized Within Past 4 Years. One Atheist Group is Unhappy
An atheist group has accused the Decatur County Detention Center of pushing 'Christianity onto inmates.' By Nancy Flory Published on January 23, 2023 A former Decatur County Sheriff has been accused of “multiple constitutional violations” by an atheist group after more than 300 inmates became baptized over the last four years, Fox News reported.
Finding Jesus in Stillness
The third episode of the new series from Conversations with Christians Engaged ... a podcast dedicated to helping believers continue walking in faith while navigating the muddy ways of politics and culture. By The Stream Published on January 16, 2023 Christians Engaged Founder and Stream contributor Bunni Pounds speaks with Dave Kubal, President of Intercessors for America, about finding Jesus in stillness. This is the third part of a new series following the life and ministry of Jesus.
Mario Murillo: The Fuse to a National Awakening
A lot of churchgoers yearn for soothing sermons. Meanwhile, a growing company seeks to understand authority, brokenness and Resurrection life. Who are these “others” who have their eyes wide open? They are too loud for most. They pray longer and deeper than what is “acceptable” in respectable circles. They do their duty and suffer through meaningless concerts, seminars and “Christian events.” But their hearts are not in it.
The Anti-Christ Spirit Behind China's Quest for World Dominance
Read Time: 2 minutes, 34 seconds China positioned itself as an emerging global player in democracy and capitalism, and many Western nations, including our own, eagerly embraced the rising power. So eagerly, in fact, that they didn't notice the red flags of the growing Chinese Communist Party empire in the world. For the past 20 years, in sector after sector, China's dominance increased. Now their economy, influence and global footprint rivals the United States, the world leader.
Demonic Globalist Tour Comes to DC
By Dave Kubal Published on June 10, 2022 The globalist elites — and the demonic forces that use them — are finishing their global tour. The World Economic Forum met in Davos. The World Health Organization met in Geneva. This week, the Bilderbergs in Washington, D.C. The Bilderberg Group was formed 68 years ago, and comprises high-level political and governmental officials meeting in conditions of utmost secrecy. More on them later.
Congress Executes Sinister, Concealed Plan on Unwitting Americans
(Getty Images) While all eyes were on the Dobbs case the evening before the Supreme Court hearing, the House was hearing about and debating a sinister plan to implement a national immunization record tracking system. Called the H.R. 550 - Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act of 2021, the measure was debated for just 40 minutes, and the recorded vote revealed all Democrats and 80 Republicans voted in favor of passage—294 in total.
Thanksgiving and a Day of Prayer
By Dave Kubal Published on November 22, 2021 Each year, Americans politely applaud and hit “like” during the customary presidential pardon of the Thanksgiving turkey. But in 2021, with a nation in turmoil and culturally divided against itself, we need much more than quaint rituals and heavily scripted White House proclamations — we need to follow the lead of our greatest forefathers by putting our heads down and bringing our hearts to God.
