Mon, June 15, 2026 at 1:49 AM UTC WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Green algae has reappeared in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool just days after the completion of a $14.2 million renovation. "It seems like money down the drain", said Barbara Baumgartner, of St. Mary's City, Md. Contracted crews with the National Park Service (NPS) took to the water Sunday to remove the algae. Workers said supply lines came back online following eight weeks of restoration work, which caused the problem.
