December 2025 FMMO uniform milk prices mostly higher

Federal Milk Marketing Order (FMMO) uniform milk prices improved in most regions in December, with largest increases in those with higher percentages of milk pooled through Class I markets. Administrators of the 11 FMMOs reported December prices and pooling data Jan. 9-14. Compared to November, December uniform prices were higher in 10 of 11 FMMOs. The lone exception was the Upper Midwest.

Dairy remains positive in an ag trade deficit year

After delays during the six-week government shutdown last fall, reports summarizing 2025 and fiscal year 2026 dairy export data are flowing again. The October 2025 report from the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) provided good news, although dairy exports remain down since peaking in July. After a dip in September, U.S. dairy exports moved back into growth mode. On a milk solids equivalent (MSE) basis, October 2025 exports were up 7% compared to the same month the previous year.
