Instantly, my popular "12 Best Billboard Ads of All Time" article was suddenly one fry short of a Happy Meal. ;-( Western jackets stitched in McDonald's red and yellow. Belt buckles hiding Big Macs. Leather strips that, when you look twice, are golden fries. No headline explaining the benefit.

A client I rebranded in the haircare space recently showed me their Shopify numbers: → Up 39% year over year → Up 120% in the last 30 days → Up 239% in the last 7 days But those numbers aren’t the full story (neither is this photograph). Disclaimer: None of their haircare products were used in this photograph. The story is this: Before the rebrand, customers had to work too hard to understand what made my client different. After the rebrand, they didn’t. Clarity scales. Confusion doesn’t.
