Congratulations to your son @David Burton - I used to consult for Microsoft & know their hiring process for FTE's is very competitive. I'm an agent-investor here in Seattle, and personally house hacked my way to 6 properties, most of which are in the city. I work with a lot of clients that have similar goals - either investors looking at straight rentals or house hackers using that strategy as a stepping stone to a bigger portfolio or some financial freedom.

Four-day work weeks are becoming increasingly common in Australia. Most recently, Medibank announced it would transition to a four-day week. Even schools are beginning to trial more flexible timetables. But could a four-day working week prove viable for artistic jobs? Creative professionals are more likely to work outside of a standard nine-to-five, especially given nighttime and weekend events. This is part of the reason that the field is more prone to burnout or other adverse mental health issues.
