-Floyd County Jail records- Louisiana man accused of ripping off Rome resident A man from West Monroe, Louisiana, was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by deception. According to the warrant: 44-year-old Wayne Anthony Mones II received $2,500 from a Rome woman as a deposit for a concrete patio. He never attempted to complete any of the work and ceased all communication with the victim, failing to return the money.

Georgia Fugitive Captured After Jumping into Weiss Lake

-Cherokee County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office- On Tuesday afternoon, deputies went to a campground in the Wildwood Cove area off County Road 182 to serve a warrant for the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia. Deputies located 33-year-old Eric Carl Virta of Cartersville, Georgia. When they attempted to take him into custody, Virta ran and jumped into the water. He crossed to the other side and entered the Kirk’s Grove/Mud Creek area. Deputies responded to the area and began searching for Virta.

-Floyd County Jail records- Search warrant leads to arrest of North Rome man A North Rome man has been arrested on drug charges. According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records: During the execution of a search warrant at the Howell Street home of 31-year-old Tiuant Luandarius Orr, a backpack containing over an ounce of marijuana was located, along with packaging materials and a digital scale.
