-Floyd County Jail records- Man charged with stalking, terroristic threats and acts A Celanese man is accused of harassing and threatening his neighbor on Kirkwood Street. According to Floyd County Jail records: 51-year-old Micah West Blankenship continuously yelled at the victim each time he saw her. He had his windows open in order to view the victim. At one point, Blankenship said he was going to kill her. The victim was visibly shaken and feared for her safety.

Extreme Heat Warning issued

-National Weather Service- We are under an Extreme Heat Warning from noon until 8 p.m. today. Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 111 are expected in Floyd, Bartow, Chattooga, Gordon, Murray, Polk, and Whitfield Counties. Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside.

Heat Advisory in effect for Wednesday

-National Weather Service- The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Floyd, Bartow, Gordon, Chattooga, Polk, Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, and Murray Counties. Heat index values up to 107 are expected, and the advisory is in effect from noon until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The advisory area includes the cities of Rome, Calhoun, Cartersville, Summerville, Cedartown, Trenton, LaFayette, Dalton, Chatsworth, and Fort Oglethorpe.
