What was your first job as a journalist?
GamingTrend. The first people to give me a shot out of college, and I've stuck with them ever since.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! I own one and I adore it. I'm always afraid to use ink though, afraid I'll run out.
How is social media changing news?
People mostly just read headlines or skip to the score of reviews. It makes it feel like no one is listening or thinking critically.

Lois Lane.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It can mean a lot of different things to different people. To me, it's about advocating for the consumer and giving my honest opinion.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
I don't follow that kind of thing.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use OBS, various capture software, Google Docs, and Ghost.

Blue Sky! It's the least worst one!

No one, I don't really care about that kind of thing.
Why did you become a journalist?
I kinda stumbled into it. I was fresh out of college and the job market has only been getting worse since, but I'm a good writer.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
So far my review of Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. I put a lot of myself into that one, and want to do so again in other projects.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Always be yourself in your work, write stuff you'd want to read, not what'll get the most clicks.

Honestly, water. I like a good soda every now and then, but water just tastes good. Anyone who says it has no taste is wrong.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Either taking a walk or lounging on the couch.

If videos count, Good Vibes Gaming. They're great people and have fantastic insights. If not, RPGsite.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That gaming journalists are just a mouthpiece for big studios. We're very much on the side of the consumer.
