Phillips 66 moves more crude under Jones Act waiver

Houston, 15 May (Argus) — US refiner Phillips 66 shipped crude from the US Gulf coast to the US east coast on a foreign-flagged ship in late April, marking at least the second time the refiner has utilized a Jones Act waiver for crude since the start of the waivers in March. The Aframax Front Altair discharged approximately 596,700 bl of West Texas Intermediate crude at the 258,500 b/d Bayway refinery in New Jersey on 13 May after loading it from a terminal in Beaumont, Texas on 29 April.

Venezuela crude cargo booked for India

Houston, 12 February (Argus) — Indian refinery Reliance has provisionally chartered a non-sanctioned tanker to carry 1mn bl of Venezuelan crude to India’s west coast, less than two weeks after US regulations shifted flows for the previously sanctioned exports. Reliance this week put the Suezmax Ottoman Sincerity on subjects for a Venezuela-loading cargo destined for west coast India loading from 23-24 February at $7.2mn lumpsum.

Non-sanctioned tankers moving more Venezuela crude

New York, 22 January (Argus) — Traders are booking tankers that are not under sanctions to move crude out of Venezuela, according to market information, as the trade shifts away from the “dark fleet” that dominated such flows in recent years. Trafigura fixed the Suezmaxes Folegandros and Poliegos to load 130,000 tons of crude each out of Venezuela, or a bit under 1mn barrels in early February, with the option to discharge anywhere.
