(WAVY) – A man was arrested Tuesday afternoon by a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Nags Head Elementary after school staff was alerted that he might attempt to retrieve his child from school, according to the Nags Head Police Department. The father, 43-year-old Christopher Ryan Smith, had an active domestic violence protective order against him, designed to protect the child and his mother.

(WAVY) – A two-vehicle accident in the 400 block of King Richard Drive has left one of the cars fully submerged in a nearby body of water Tuesday afternoon, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department. The accident occurred around 2:59 p.m. and VBPD officers are investigating the incident.
