Generative AI platforms now account for a measurable share of traffic to employer career sites, although traditional search engines and job boards remain far larger sources of candidates. In June, traffic attributed to AI platforms accounted for 1.07% of all visits across the career sites hosted by recruitment marketing agency HireClix. The results varied considerably by employer. One government contractor received 6.89% of its career-site visits from AI platforms, up from 1.33% in January.

Not long ago, a candidate came through our process for a production role. His resume was straightforward: solid production background, nothing that immediately stood out. On paper, he was a Producer. That’s how he would have been categorized and likely screened. But fifteen minutes into our conversation, I was hearing something different. He wasn’t describing what he’d made.
