(WTVY) - Sunday has been declared a First Alert Weather Day as the WTVY First Alert Weather Team tracks the arrival of a powerful line of showers and thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms will move across the Wiregrass during the midday to afternoon period on Sunday, potentially producing damaging wind gusts and pockets of rotation that could lead to isolated tornadoes, in addition to heavy rain and frequent lightning.

Snow, freezing rain and rain...spreading from the Plains through the Mid-South and South. The main window is Friday, through the weekend, into Monday. Travel plans: Travel will become very difficult - if not impossible - from parts of Texas and Oklahoma, into the Carolinas, during the peak of this event.
