John devoted much of his earlier life to supporting his local Labour party in Chesterfield and various community associations in Sheffield.

If you want, you can join the subscription and get new updates here. I'm a Jamaican writer that once dreamed of becoming a successful author and failed to do that. My first stint into writing was never novels. It was comics. When I attended Calabar High school, I used to create these comics.

Published 12:00 am Saturday, December 23, 2023 By David Shaw For Salisbury Post SALISBURY — It was another first in a season full of them for Jamal Rule. And it took place a long, post route from Ludwig Stadium, where the junior running back made headlines and carved out a slice of history.

Published 12:00 am Saturday, December 16, 2023 By David Shaw For the Salisbury Post SALISBURY — It’s not easy to get Salisbury football coach Clayton Trivett’s attention, but Jaden Warren did so in a big way this season. The senior defensive end was impossible to ignore, and just as difficult to contain, after shuffling from free safety to the D-line a year ago.

Published 12:00 am Saturday, December 9, 2023 By David Shaw For Salisbury Post SALISBURY — The best place to discover a hidden treasure isn’t necessarily where they tell you to look. But for Salisbury’s Yatti Avilez, the county’s boys soccer Player of the Year, it was right there. “Word of mouth, from people who knew him,” recalled Matt Parrish, the revered coach who helped mold Avilez into a Division I college prospect.
For a week, Catawba women's team 'was the best in the country' - Salisbury Post
Published 12:00 am Saturday, November 4, 2023 By David Shaw SALISBURY — First place was fun while it lasted. So was basking in the glow of a No. 1 national ranking, but that was three matches and two losses ago for the Catawba women’s soccer team. As they turn their attention to the SAC tournament and Division II playoffs, the Lady Indians are a bit shaken but certainly prepared for whatever awaits.
North Rowan's George Maxwell goes from hoops to the gridiron - Salisbury Post
Published 12:00 am Tuesday, October 17, 2023 By David Shaw For the Salisbury Post SPENCER — You probably know George Maxwell as an adroit shooting guard who averaged 16 points-per-game for a nothing-special North Rowan boys basketball team last winter. And you likely recall the night last January when the 6-footer grabbed 10 rebounds, flushed 10 3-pointers and dropped a career-high 42 points on West Davidson, providing an indelible memory for the Cavs and their followers.

Tristen McBride is dangerous on both sides for the Cougars - Salisbury Post
Published 12:00 am Thursday, October 5, 2023 By David Shaw CHINA GROVE — Opposing teams are starting to hate Carson’s Tristen McBride — and that’s exactly why the Cougars love him. As a square-shouldered two-way lineman, McBride has become a certified problem for SPC adversaries. He’s a 6-foot-3, 270-pound shot of Red Bull, a pillar of strength and trust as a first-year center and a menacing DT/DE who brings a mean streak and level of grit to a defense that welcomes every bit of it.
Professional advice about buying suitable shoes
If you walk into a typical shoe store - think The Athlete's Foot - they will have their shoes in categories, pricing from cheapest at bottom to most expensive at top etc... which I'm sure you're aware of. What most people don't realise is that although the cheapest shoes are at the bottom of the wall they almost always the same quality as the other models in their brand.

High school football: Strong debut for Sophia and Cavaliers - Salisbury Post
Published 12:00 am Tuesday, August 22, 2023 By David Shaw For the Salisbury Post SPENCER — First impressions are important — and so far, Josh Sophia seems like a good fit to lead North Rowan’s football program back into prominence. No, the first-year head coach doesn’t check all the boxes like some of the greats of yesteryear. He doesn’t boast a coaching resume that screams “hire me” after four walk-before-you-run seasons at rebuilding Camden County.
