The Honorable David A. Singleton was born in raised in Maplewood, Minnesota. In 2017 when he was appointed by the Maplewood City Council 2017 to the Police Use of Force Advisory Board.

David A. Singleton was elected the Vice-Chair serving under the chairman. While serving in a Vice-Chair capacity, David helped provide strong leadership and offered a diverse perspective that was beneficial in providing substantial advice and counsel to the city council of Maplewood, Minnesota.

Just like many governments across the globe, the U.S. government is made of three branches. The constitution divided the government into three branches in a bid to ensure that no person held too much power. That way, the rights of the citizens would be protected, and the government would be effective. All the branches of the U.S. government are assigned responsibilities and are expected, to some extent, to work with each other to serve the citizens.

As a leader in the Maplewood city council, I understand that we are responsible for the community’s safety. We also understand that without community safety in Maplewood, the city’s overall value will be weighed down. My counsel on the well-being of the Maplewood community has been instrumental over the years.
