@lizaCKNW980 @MeetThePress That's what always irks me about the "It was OK at the time" logic whether on sexism, racism, anti-Indigenous etc. In every context, those discriminated against were always ignored. It's not like THEIR perception changed (And they didn't always stay quiet then either)

What was your first job as a journalist?

A high school coop at Nelson Express in B.C.'s Kootenays, writing on arts & youth. First paid gig was Gulf Islands Driftwood in 2001

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, I own an electric typewriter but never used it for reporting, just dabbling in short story.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Serving the public interest, holding power to account, exposing the truth
