Texas Rangers begin investigation of Marlin Animal Control facilities

Marlin (FOX 44/KWKT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed to FOX 44 News that Texas Rangers are investigating possible violations at the Marlin Animal Control Facilities. DPS says the investigation is active and ongoing and would not share anymore information at this time. FOX 44 News has been following the situation at the facilities since the start of 2024. Marlin resident Jeffrey Rich was looking for his lost dog at the Marlin Animal Shelter.

17-year-old boy drowns near Crawford

by: Dean Wetherbee Posted: Jun 2, 2024 / 07:41 PM CDT Updated: Jun 2, 2024 / 07:42 PM CDT Crawford (FOX 44/KWKT) — The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday that a 17-year-old boy drowned in a creek near Chisholm Trail. Sheriff Parnell McNamara told FOX 44 News the first report came in around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The teenager was swimming with friends and may have gotten tangled up with a tree or brush underwater. Deputies and game wardens worked together to search for the teen.

Bobcat spotted near Ft. Cavazos family housing

Fort Cavazos (FOX 44/KWKT) — Fort Cavazos officials are searching for a bobcat recently spotted near family housing. They say the bobcat was in the Comanche 1 housing area. Fort Cavazos police patrols and game wardens are patrolling the area at this time. When the bobcat is found and captured, it will be removed. People living in the area are asked to move small children and animals inside if they see the bobcat. If you see it, you are asked to call the Fort Cavazos Police Department at 254-288-1170.
