MADISON COUNTY, Ala. - One person is dead and three others are hurt, including a Madison County deputy, in a crash on Highway 53. Madison County Sheriffs Deputies told WAAY 31 the wreck happened just after midnight Saturday at the intersection of Highway 53 and Blake Bottom Road. Deputies were called to the scene shortly after. One person was pronounced dead at the crash site. The three others were taken to Huntsville Hospital.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Arts Huntsville is inviting the community to celebrate the unveiling of a new bronze sculpture at Mayfair Park. The dedication will be held June 20 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the park. The sculpture, called Lift, was created by local artist Ann Moeller. It shows a six-foot bronze figure of a young girl mid-stride with her arms outstretched, wearing an aviator's cap and goggles.

ATHENS, Ala. - The Athens Lions Club is bringing back its Annual Summer Kiddie Carnival, opening June 11 and running through July 25. The carnival will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., according to a press release. It will be closed during the July 4 weekend. The longtime summer tradition features 10 small rides designed for children ages 2–10 years old.
