1 Introduction Executive function (EF) includes the core components of inhibitory control, working memory, and cognitive flexibility and is a cognitive construct supported via an extensive frontoparietal network (Diamond 2013; Miyake et al. 2000). An important line of inquiry is identifying the physiological state, or states, benefitting EF given its role in supporting educational and occupational activities.
