Have you ever used a typewriter?
When I was a kid, my mother had a typewriter from the late 90s or early 00s and I used that sometimes.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email me a few sentences, or even a few paragraphs. I'll respond as fast as possible.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Canva for graphics, Arc for writing and lightroom for photo editing.
Why did you become a journalist?
I thought it was cool! Plus I wasn't good at math.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did! I "reported" for a few stories before it was shut down due to the lack of people.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime after 3 p.m. central.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Rock climbing at the gym or walking my dogs.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
People like military news in the Huntsville market. They really don't.
