Matthew Mayich, a sophomore defenseman from Ontario, Canada, collapsed on Aug. 20 during an outdoor workout in Tempe, Arizona. The 21-year-old is still in the hospital and unlikely to fully recover, according to his family’s attorney.

NEW YORK (AP) - A man was dragged to death by a New York City subway train when a bag he was carrying got stuck in the door during the Monday evening rush hour commute, police said. Yaw Boahene, 57, was exiting the train at a Brooklyn subway station around 6 p.m. when his bag, which police described as a shopping bag, snagged in the closing train doors. The Brooklyn resident was pulled onto the tracks and run over by the train as it left the station, police said in a statement.

(WAFF) - Huntsville residents got the chance to point out safety concerns along Governors Drive at a community open house this week, part of a broader traffic safety study of the corridor. Governors Drive is included in Huntsville’s High Injury Network due to the number of fatal and serious-injury crashes that occur there. More than 40 people attended the open house, marking up a map with suggestions for improvements.
