An injectable and retrievable bioartificial pancreas fabricated by time-sequentially assembling islets-laden microgels for minimally invasive treatment of type 1 diabetes
Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by insulin deficiency and persistent hyperglycemia [1], [2], [3]. Although lots of exogenous insulin delivery systems have been developed, they cannot regulate blood glucose levels (BGLs) in real time like native pancreas due to the intermittent delivery methods and inaccurate delivery doses [4], [5], [6].
Iridium-Catalyzed 1,3-Rearrangement of Allylic Ethers
The 1,3-rearrangement of allylic derivatives has rarely been reported, except for allylic alcohols. Herein, we describe an iridium-catalyzed 1,3-rearrangement of readily available allylic ethers to access the difficultly prepared allylic ethers with a large steric hindrance. The developed method shows a broad substrate scope and could be used in the late-stage modification of several natural products. In addition, a possible reaction pathway is also provided on the basis of the control experiments.

Light-responsive nanodrugs co-self-assembled from a PEG-Pt(IV) prodrug and doxorubicin for reversing multi-drug resistance in the chemotherapy process of hypoxic solid tumors
Light-responsive nanodrugs co-self-assembled from a PEG-Pt(IV) prodrug and doxorubicin for reversing multi-drug resistance in the chemotherapy process of hypoxic solid tumors Tianbao Chen, Shuting Xu, Wei Huang and Deyue Yan Abstract The hypoxia-induced multidrug resistance (MDR) often develops in the chemotherapy process of most anticancer drugs (e.g., doxorubicin, DOX) and results in the treatment failure in clinic.
Two Zn(II) coordination polymers with anticancer drug norcantharidin as ligands for cancer chemotherapy
Two Zn(II) coordination polymers with anticancer drug norcantharidin as ligands for cancer chemotherapy Here two Zn(II) coordination polymers [Zn20(DMCA)12]O12 (DMCA = demethylcantharic acid, DMCA-Zn1) and [Zn(DMCA)](H2O)2 (DMCA-Zn2) are synthesized from a broad-spectrum anticancer drug norcantharidin (NCTD) and Zn(NO3)2·6H2O at the solvothermal condition.

Fluorescence resonance energy transfer-based drug delivery systems for enhanced photodynamic therapy
Fluorescence resonance energy transfer-based drug delivery systems for enhanced photodynamic therapy Yu Huang, Feng Qiu, Rongjun Chen, Deyue Yan and Xinyuan Zhu Abstract Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has received an increasing attention in disease treatment due to its minimally-invasive, selective destruction with combination of a photosensitizer (PS), light, and oxygen.
DNA Trojan Horses: Self-Assembled Floxuridine-Containing DNA Polyhedra for Cancer Therapy
Based on their structural similarity to natural nucleobases, nucleoside analogue therapeutics were integrated into DNA strands through conventional solid-phase synthesis. By elaborately designing their sequences, floxuridine-integrated DNA strands were synthesized and self-assembled into well-defined DNA polyhedra with definite drug-loading ratios as well as tunable size and morphology.
