Diego Salazar (Lima, 1981) is a journalist, editor and book author. His work appears regularly in The Washington Post among other media outlets in Latin America, Europe and the United States. He is the author of two boos, No hemos entendido nada: Qué ocurre cuando dejamos el futuro de la prensa a merced de un algoritmo (Debate, Penguin Random House, 2018) and ¿Ahora qué? Apuntes urgentes para entender una campaña interminable (Debate, Penguin Random House, 2021).

What was your first job as a journalist?

I wrote about music, films and books for a magazine in Spain. It was a dream job.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

When I was a kid. My father was a journo for a brief period of his life so we had typewriters at home. I loved typing on them.

I just wrote a book about this!
