Back in early July 2026, both Black Ops 1 and 2 were ported to modern PlayStation consoles. The former released in 2010, the latter in 2012. They are some of the more beloved COD titles across the franchise, evidenced not only by the very fact they were ported to begin with, but also in torrential sales numbers that the ports themselves did achieve. Today, we will take a look at Black Ops 1. A review on BO2 is on the horizon as well.

I was looking out for a farming type game, and to have made it an Indie game at that was something I viewed as a plus. Enter Spiritfarer, a game which markets itself as a ‘cozy’ game, where the end goal is managing a ship in a very typical property management sim alongside a very atypical cast of characters living on said ship. Though these characters are quirky, what’s truly atypical is how they’re meant to be managed: these are people who “died” and ended up in Purgatory.

At the time of writing, Return to Lothric is now underway! Just like the rest of the franchise, the older Soulsborne series has an annual two week period of time dedicated to it by the loving fans of the community where the idea is to go back to the game, make a new character or a few, and enjoy the game like it’s brand new. Just like the last few “Return to…” events, my contribution this year will be, among other things, in the form of a formal written review.
