Why did you become a journalist?

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes, I ended up following the same path in college: contributing, joining staff, and then rising to an editor position.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
You have to want to do this, and hopefully for the right reasons.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At a movie theater or reading.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That health journalism is always negative or foreboding.
