Range extension achieved beyond the longest synthetic wavelength is possible by continuous tuning of the source wavelength and with the use of tilted interference for excess fraction extraction from a spectrally undersampled signal. This allows for the unique measurement of the extended range. For a correctly assumed fringe order for the initial source wavelength, the non-divergence of the estimated range as a function of wavelength tuning provides the potential range locations.

A dynamic diffractive optical element like a moving grating introduces phase shift in the diffraction orders of the field under coherent illumination. We explore the possibility of introducing phase shifts when the illumination is spatially incoherent, utilizing the diffraction of optical coherence. A phase shift to the diffraction order of spatial coherence corresponds to an equivalent phase shift between two non-local points in the stochastic field propagated from the source.

In the present work, we propose a hybrid holographic modal wavefront sensing (HHMWS) technique to improve aberration correction by leveraging the complementary strengths of Zernike polynomials and polar Walsh functions, together with an optimized correction strategy. Zernike-based modal wavefront sensing is effective for correcting low-order aberrations but is less capable of addressing complex aberrations like those caused by atmospheric turbulence.
