Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey became the first feature-length commercial film to be shot and released entirely in 70mm IMAX. The quest was decades in the making, with Nolan first shooting action sequences on 70mm IMAX for The Dark Knight. His later films, such as Inception, Interstellar, Tenet and Oppenheimer, utilized more scenes shot in 70mm IMAX, the latter movie requiring a brand-new 70mm IMAX film stock in black-and-white.
