What was your first job as a journalist?
My first paid job as a journalist was at TechRaptor as a writer
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Being born in 1990, I grew up after the typewriter and while I have an interest in older things, I have not used a typewriter
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Tough question as there are a lot! I would probably go with Will McAvoy from The Newsroom
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means to seek truth, and empower people by informing them of all the pertinent information on important matters
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Send me an email, with several paragraphs with clear information about the topic - what's new and the background.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My trusty desktop PC is my primary tool, with its ability to reach out to people, and write stories up in word processors
What's your favorite social network?
I don't know that I have one, as I've found a lot of times they tend to get worse quickly and have a host of problems.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist because I enjoy writing and shining light on important matters
What's your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is Diet Pepsi Decaf - I'm off caffeine in general for my mental health but I like the taste of Pepsi
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That it doesn't matter. Gaming is the largest entertainment industry and how it functions, and how we interact with it, all matter.
