Writing two days before the event, I cannot give you a proper assessment of yesterday’s July 4th celebration. I assume the fireworks displays were (weather permitting) as impressively colorful and explosive as the occasion demanded. Our nation’s 250th birthday deserves no less. There have been hints that President Trump will do something dramatic to mark the occasion.

The great American State Fair kicked off this past Thursday with a surprisingly short (30 minutes) address by President Trump. The event is a major celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
