Experimental procedures were conducted in accordance with European Union (Directive 2010/63/EU) guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals and approved by the local government (Bezirksregierung Düsseldorf). C57BL/6j mice were kept in groups of 5 animals per cage, inverse 12/12 h light/dark cycle, and access to food and water ad libitum. All efforts were made to reduce the number of animals in the experiments.
