Winnipeg Mayor Scott Gillingham favours re-opening the city’s most famous intersection to pedestrian to save commuters from a half-decade of traffic delays. In a live interview with 92.7FM’s Chester Pangan, Gillingham says the plan to reopen Portage and Main is a response to a new city report on the traffic impact and cost of repairing the Portage and Main underground. The report goes to the Standing Policy Committee on Property and Development today, March 7th.
