Hastings resident Donna R. Bond, 82, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at Good Samaritan Village-Perkins Pavillion, Hastings. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Micah Guant officiating. Burial will be at Sutton Cemetery at a later date. Book signing will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Here, we present a chromosome-level genome assembly of the common brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula), a model marsupial threatened in parts of their native range in Australia, but also a major introduced pest in New Zealand.
