1. Introduction Whether we like it or not, the global human population will continue to rise, land use and land cover will continue to change, the rain will continue to fall, and floods will not go away. With the recent events of catastrophic floods in urban and rural settings globally, it is evident that much attention is required to ameliorate the detrimental effects of flooding, especially with climate change having arrived.
