Another day of heat advisories continues for our southern counties from 11 AM to 8 PM. An Extreme Heat Warning is in place for Pender County until 8 PM as well. Heat Advisories from 11 AM-8 PM Wednesday for parts of ENC We will see another hot day, but not as intense as the July 4th holiday weekend. Highs will be in the upper 80s and low 90s. With the daytime heating and humidity, we will need to watch for those scattered storms. Winds from the southwest will hold from the northwest around 10-15 mph.

The WITN First Alert Weather Team has issued an Alert Weather Day Today, due to afternoon and evening chances of showers and thunderstorms. The main things we will be watching out for are gusty winds, heavy downpours, and the potential for small hail. First Alert Weather Storm Risk: Tuesday, July 7 Due to the storm threat, the Storm Prediction Center has a level one risk of severe weather. Areas along the inland coast and Outer Banks are not highlighted in the severe weather risk.

Continue to keep cool this afternoon, as another set of heat advisories is in place from 11 AM to 8 PM today. Heat Advisories for ENC: Tuesday, July 7, 2026 After the wet and stormy evening on Monday, we are starting muggy and warm in the 70s and lower 80s, with feels-like temperatures in the 80s. Highs will top out in the upper 80s and low 90s, with feels-like temperatures near or over 100°F. In addition to the heat, scattered showers and storms will occur in the afternoon, like Monday.
