10-foot python found slithering around neighborhood sidewalk
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF/Gray News) - A driver spotted a 10-foot python in a South Carolina neighborhood Monday night. Tracy Stout said she was driving home around 9 p.m. when she saw something in the road. “When I first saw it, I was like, ‘was that a snake?’ Because I’ve seen plenty of snakes around here, but nothing like that, so that’s why I pulled a U-turn because it was big; he was huge,” Stout said. Stout did not know if it was someone’s pet, so she called a snake wrangler.

Almost the entire lunar surface will be masked Thursday night into Friday — a whopping 96% — making this an especially deep partial eclipse. The moon is already in the spotlight.
Scattered storms today, then to a slightly drier Sunday
The weekend is here, and many will get outdoors and soak in the last bit of summer break, but that might not be the case for all. Inland and coastal areas will see rounds of showers and an isolated rumble of thunder and lightning, but the severe threat is low. The heaviest rainfall will depart late morning, then they are scattered in the afternoon and evening, but not as heavy as this morning.
