Surround yourself with the kind of writers you want to be- watch the documentaries,read the newspapers, start writing, blogging, anything..

When's the best time to pitch you?

I'm quite good at responses, but earlier in the morning is best, the middle of the day is not a great time as I'm out on stories usually.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I spend Sunday mornings with The Irish Times and some jazz tones. Aside from that, my letterbox is filled with upcoming books every week.
