Yes - I used my first typewriter in elementary school to create a neighborhood newspaper complete with TV listings sourced from the TV Guide.

How is social media changing news?

I believe that social media has had an overall negative effect on the news. Serious news is increasingly replaced by “clickable” viral stories. Algorithms used by popular search engines reinforce users’ confirmation biases and make them less inclined to read multiple sides to a story. Misinformation is spread far too easily, with demonstrably false posts from influencers going directly to readers and bypassing news outlets altogether.
