Alongside humanitarian support, international organisations such as the United Nations and World Bank began publishing information about recovery projects and investment opportunities. For UK businesses, this presented both opportunity and difficulty. The information existed, but it was fragmented.

For sixty years, Louis Dunford’s family have lived in N1. In his new EP ‘The Popham’ the storyteller introduces us to the locals. Track 1: My Generation Louis calls attention to the problems he and his age group have faced living on the Popham Estate in Islington. Impassioned songwriting sketches out what’s going on in North London and the causes of the social deprivation there, delivered with frank grit. The song’s catchy, albeit peppered with a slightly long-winded chorus.

Truly excited that my first ever feature documentary, that I have been working on with and about the incredible Waad Al Kateab for a year and a half, will premiere at SXSW festival in less than a week on Monday 11th March. It tells the story of Waad’s journey through love, marriage and motherhood across five years of the revolution in Aleppo, Syria. Waad shot it all herself, giving a unique female perspective on the struggle that has not been seen before.
