A cosmetology student with a passion for public health took to the streets to merge the two passions by giving haircuts to the homeless. The state cosmetology board launched an investigation when members found out what Juan Carlos Montes de Oca was doing without a license. Later, Governor Doug Ducey stepped in. He wrote a letter to the board calling for an end to the investigation. “For some people, it’s just a haircut,” said Montes de Oca.

Rattlesnake season is officially upon us in Southern Arizona. “Snakes are coming out and they’re coming out hungry,” said Jeff Carver of Arizona Animal Experts. “It’s kind of like when you wake up kind of grouchy after a long nap. They start looking for food and they tend to be more aggressive right now.” Carver said It’s especially important to be on the lookout for snakes when you’re doing yard work, hikinh or when walking a pet.
