Severe weather in Cochise County causes power outages, road closures

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Hundreds of people are left in the dark after severe weather passed through Cochise County Wednesday night. According to the APS Outage Map, more than 1,100 customers are impacted near Tombstone. The boundary listed on the site says those on Mountain View Rd. to Old Mill Rd. and Lonely Ln. to Reed Rd. could be experiencing a power outage. As of early Friday morning, power is expected to be restored around 6 a.m..

In-custody death investigation underway, says PCSD

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Pima County Sheriff's Department is reporting the Pima Regional Critical Incident team is investigating an in-custody death that happened Monday. According to a release sent after 11 p.m., PCSD says the Team was conducting its investigation near 6th Avenue and 36th Street. Details are limited at this time, but PCSD says the situation happened after the South Tucson Police Department attempted to take a suspect into custody.

Crash between motorcycle, car closes part of Craycroft

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Pima County Sheriff's Department is working to clear a crash on Craycroft that happened just north of River Rd.. Deputies say it happened Friday morning and invovled a motorcycle and car. PCSD says at least one person suffered life-threatening injuries. At this time, the southbound lanes of Craycroft between East Heatherwood Way and East Camino del Celador are closed. There is no estimated time as to when the lanes will reopen. Drivers are being asked to find alternate routes.
