What was your first job as a journalist?

I was an intrepid teenage reporter for a local newspaper. They paid me $25 an article, which was a king's sum for me in those days.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Hm. Once or twice. I've formatted Word docs to act like a typewriter when I first learned how to write screenplays. Not a fan.

How is social media changing news?

It's changing news in the wrong direction. Long-form stories and criticisms are being forced into tiny bites, removed from their context.
