Prior to the June International Supercomputing Conference, ISC High Performance 2026, in Hamburg, Germany, Sean Feeney (Texas A&M University PhD Student/Computer Science/Quantum) and I visited the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) and their JUNIQ (pronounced unique) testlab (Jülich UNified Infrastructure for Quantum Computing). The ISC’26 theme was, “Connecting the Dots,” which is what Feeney and I were also doing in Jülich.

The International Supercomputing Conference, ISC High Performance 2026, drew a record 4,035 attendees and 188 exhibitors from 64 and 26 countries, respectively. I have always found ISC to be thoughtfully planned with ample opportunities to network and reconnect with beloved colleagues.

As previously noted, the Seventh National Research Platform (7NRP) workshop was held in La Jolla, California, May 5–7, 2026, with an agenda focused on artificial intelligence (AI) in education and agriculture. You can read part one of our coverage here.
