Abstract Giant pangolin (Smutsia gigantea) is one of the least studied pangolin species worldwide, with no published hematological and biochemical data available. We report the first blood parameters from a rehabilitated adult male from Campo Ma'an National Park (southern Cameroon). These preliminary descriptive values, obtained from a single individual sampled during the rehabilitation period, are described and discussed in relation to available data from other pangolin species.

Non‐fatal removal of ground pangolin (Smutsia temminckii Smuts, 1832) tracking devices by predators
1 INTRODUCTION All species of pangolin are threatened with extinction due to overexploitation for meat and use in traditional medicine (IUCN, 2023). The collapse of Asian pangolin populations has resulted in increased international demand for pangolin, leading to the rapid expansion of international trafficking (Emogor et al., 2021; Ingram et al., 2019). As a result, pangolins are now considered the world's most trafficked mammal (Challender et al., 2014).
