Flint residents could receive up to $15K for home repairs

Flint, MI— Eligible Flint residents could receive up to $15,000 for home repairs or modifications to make their home more accessible under a program provided by Metro Community Development and the Federal Home Loan Bank System. The Neighborhood Impact Program (NIP) provides up to $15,000 in grant assistance to qualified homeowners for maintenance repairs or accessibility modifications. Funding for the program is provided by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis.

Genesee Land Bank Authority enters its 20th season of cleaning the community

Flint, MI— The Genesee County Land Bank Authority recently launched its 20th year of the Clean and Green cleanup program. According to a press release from the land bank, from April to September 2024, 66 community groups will clean up and maintain 3,500 vacant properties in and around Flint every three weeks. Each group receives a stipend for maintaining at least 25 properties during the three weeks. Six new groups were selected to participate this year; the other 60 are returning.
