PHOENIX, Ore. – While much of the focus before childbirth is on pregnancy and delivery, the emotional and mental health challenges that follow can be harder to prepare for. For women struggling with postpartum wellness, there are local resources to turn to for support. Based in Phoenix, Genesis Perinatal Support and Counseling is a mental health clinic that offers individual and couples therapy.

CURRY COUNTY, Ore. – A community forum was held last night in Port Orford to bring awareness to substance abuse and other challenges residents are facing in Curry County Healthcare workers, law enforcement and service providers across several organizations coordinated the meeting to gather public input. One of the main concerns included the prevalence of HIV in the small county and the use of other substances. According to an attendee, 10 cases of HIV were reported last year.

MEDFORD, Ore. – A local non-profit is gearing up to open a thrift shop in Talent. Rogue Community Cat Rescue is a volunteer-driven organization that focuses on cat rescues and advocates for the health and well-being of community cats across Jackson County. Fostering and adoption programs are also available. Set to open early this fall, the thrift shop will be based in Talent and offer a variety of items.
