UPDATE: Red Bank City Commissioners approved a 16-cent property tax increase. City leaders say those extra 16 cents will go toward capital investments, maintaining service delivery and retaining qualified personnel. The property tax increase was included in the FY27 budget, which begins on July 1, 2026, and ends on June 30, 2027. The new property tax rate for Red Bank residents will be $1.29, up 14% from the previous rate of $1.13.

UPDATE: Hamilton Co. School Board passes budget with $14 million for raises

UPDATE: The Hamilton County School Board unanimously approved the proposed budget for the next school year, 11-0, on Thursday, May 22. The more than $700 million budget now heads to the Hamilton County Commission for a vote. The budget allots $14 million for employee raises. Certified staff, such as teachers, counselors and librarians, will see an average of 3.5% pay increase. General staff, such as educational assistants, central office and administrators, will see an average of 2.5% pay increase.

14% property tax increase proposed for Red Bank residents

Red Bank residents could soon see a 14% property tax increase. The proposed increase is meant to put additional funding into the following categories. $75,000 for facilities and maintenance $98,000 for a new four-year loan $200,000 for the former Red Bank Middle School site $125,000 for a North Red Bank Park Red Bank’s current tax rate is about $1.13. The new proposed rate is $1.29, marking an increase of 16 cents.
