The Solar Feminine is not merely the Sun with a different pronoun. She is a distinct archetype—one who embodies the paradox of brilliance and softness, of power and receptivity, of visibility and inner knowing. She is the one who teaches that sovereignty is not seized but remembered, not demanded but embodied. There is a moment in every seeker’s life when the Sun stops being simply a celestial body and becomes a teacher.

As Pride Month arrives alongside the approach of the Summer Solstice, I’m reflecting on one of the most powerful forms of magic we can practice: authenticity. In metaphysical spaces, we spend a great deal of time talking about transformation. We work with tarot to uncover truth, astrology to better understand ourselves, and spell work to manifest change.

Our ancestors can help us through this. The American political and societal climate is hostile towards anyone who is not wealthy, white and male. While this is not news to us, under the current administration, things have escalated at an alarming pace. And the trend towards fascism and hatred is happening all over the world. This is discouraging at best and downright terrifying the more you look at the details. In the last few months, I have spent a lot of time thinking about the future.
