Arcadia Live theater brought the shadowy world of Edgar Allan Poe to Kerrville on Saturday, hosting the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy for a 90-minute immersive cocktail experience that blended theatrical storytelling with craft drinks. The show drew audiences into a darkened speakeasy setting where four of Poe's most celebrated works came to life through dramatic performance. "Poe historian" and actress Dia del Trus described how the evening was structured from the first sip to the final curtain.

Students with BOUNCE Student Disaster Recovery have spent the week working on homes and properties across Kerrville still recovering from last year's flooding, part of a two-week mission trip organized through Texas Baptists. Jordyn Machado, the Collegiate Staff Communications and Missions Specialist at BOUNCE, said the organization had 12 active sites last week, with seven churches sending volunteers.

The Hill Country Amateur Radio Club welcomed the public Saturday for an open house and Field Day demonstration, offering Kerrville residents a firsthand look at the emergency communications technology that has quietly served the Texas Hill Country for more than 50 years. The club's annual Field Day, a 24-hour drill simulating emergency communications under austere conditions, kicked off at 1 p.m. Saturday and ran through 1 p.m. the following day.
