What was your first job as a journalist?

Intern at the Calgary Herald.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

We had an electric typewriter when I was about 11, before our first PC.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

A short email or press release.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter. Followed closely by Instagram.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

My high school didn't have a newspaper, but I was news editor at the University of Calgary Gauntlet.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

A story for Canadian Business about Target coming to Canada, which ended up on the cover.
