TotalEnergies Plans $10 Billion Investment in Angola
TotalEnergies plans to invest $10 billion in Angola over the next five years with its partners, as the French energy major seeks to sustain production and expand exploration in the southern African country. Chief Executive Officer Patrick Pouyanne announced the investment at an oil conference in Luanda, saying the spending would support several major projects and help Angola maintain crude output at around 1 million barrels per day.
India Is Pushing for BRICS Digital Currency Link-Up Despite Hurdles
India is pushing for BRICS countries to link their central bank digital currencies to facilitate faster and cheaper cross-border payments, despite political and technical obstacles that could delay implementation. The proposal from the Reserve Bank of India is expected to feature on the agenda of the BRICS leaders’ summit in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, according to two people familiar with the discussions. India is chairing the group this year.
