A suspicious individual posing as a human resources agent affiliated with the Federal Government of Nigeria on TikTok has been luring Nigerians into a trap, where they lose money, under the guise of securing a remote job. FIJ found that a page named HR posted a deceptive advert featuring Nigeria’s official coat of arms and titled “New Job Opportunity in Nigeria”. According to the advert, the available opportunities are remote, part-time and full-time positions.

The Federal College of Education, Isu, Ebonyi State, has spent N487 million on two projects that appear unrelated to its core mandate. FIJ found on Govspend, an accountability tool, that the college of education paid two companies on February 24, 2025, and August 21, 2025, for construction and supply. The Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) Zaria, Kaduna State, disbursed N379.9 million in a single day for four projects that are outside its clearly defined mandate. FIJ found on Govspend that the research institute paid four separate companies on August 18, 2025, for the supply of grains and fertiliser to Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Zamfara State.
